Following a slam in which two former Bruins brought home hardware, all six active at Wimbledon left empty-handed.
Abbey Forbes had never anticipated transferring.
But despite her attempt to remain in Westwood, the former Bruin will now be heading home.
The former UCLA women’s tennis player announced May 25 in an Instagram post that she will be transferring to North Carolina to use her final two years of eligibility as a graduate transfer.

UCLA women’s tennis (12-6, 7-1 Pac-12) will kick off its NCAA tournament run with a matchup against Arkansas on Saturday. But before the Bruins and Razorbacks can clash on the court, Daily Bruin Sports predicts how long the blue and gold can extend its season.
In their previous four NCAA tournament appearances, the Bruins outscored their first-round opponents 16-0.
This season, they’ll hit the road with a shot at 20-0.
UCLA women’s tennis (12-6, 7-1 Pac-12) will commence its run at a third national title against Arkansas (16-9, 8-5 SEC) on Saturday at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
