Two people were arrested during a demonstration held Thursday by pro-Palestine organizations at UCLA in remembrance of the 1948 Nakba. 
The demonstration was hosted by several campus organizations – including Students for Justice in Palestine, a temporarily suspended organization – and intended to recognize Nakba Day – which recognizes when around 700,000 Palestinians were expelled by Israeli forces during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. 
“The day is important to recognize today because it just demonstrates the longevity of the violence of the Zionist entity against Palestinians and the fact that it did not start October 7,” said Mohammed, an SJP spokesperson who was granted partial anonymity due to fear of retaliation.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Friday designating the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs campus as the National Center for Warrior Independence.

Students and community members filed a lawsuit against California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Police Department on Thursday for their alleged use of excessive force against protesters during the police sweep of the first Palestine solidarity encampment last May.

University police received 160 crime reports from April 1 to 30 that resulted in active police cases.

UCPD will be releasing cell phones it has held for nearly a year, which were confiscated after arrests made during last spring’s pro-Palestine protests.
Police officers confiscated around 40 phones from people arrested at pro-Palestine protests in spring 2024 to be used as evidence in investigations for potential charges, said Cynthia Anderson-Barker, a civil rights attorney who advocated for phones to be returned to students.

UCPD announced the closure of Dickson Plaza on Wednesday and arrested a person wearing a keffiyeh. 
Private security guards from CSC security and APEX Security Group began placing metal barricades surrounding all entrances to Dickson Plaza around 2:30 p.m.

The Los Angeles City Attorney declined to file criminal charges on most arrests made in April and May 2024 during pro-Palestine protests. 
LA City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto announced in a Friday press release that UCPD referred 245 arrests to her office relating to May campus protests, all of which were declined due to insufficient evidence.

UCPD has deployed additional police officers as the one-year anniversary of the first Palestine solidarity encampment approaches.

Around 150 people took to the streets of downtown Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon for UCLA Faculty Association’s protest against student visa revocations.
The protest, hosted alongside California Faculty Association and several other Southern California organizations, intended to rally against recent student visa revocations and deportations.

UCPD recorded 672 unique entries in its March daily crime log.
University police received 129 crime reports from March 1 to 31 that resulted in active police cases.
