International members of the UCLA women’s and men’s golf teams recently represented their home countries in the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship and the FISU World University Golf Championships, respectively, from July 20 to July 23.

As UCLA Athletics takes a break for the summer, professional sports are still in full swing, with many Bruin alumni representing. At least that’s what this past month has felt like for UCLA men’s golf coach Armen Kirakossian, who was recently named as former coach Derek Freeman’s successor following the 2021-2022 season.
This year, the NCAA doled out $5 million to address disparities between the men’s and women’s March Madness tournaments.
The expansion of the women’s tournament to 68 teams, gym equipment, swag bags, hotel accommodations and the official use of the “March Madness” logo are now all the same between the two leagues, among other aspects.
The Bruins will face a familiar foe in the quarterfinals of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
UCLA women’s basketball (17-12, 8-8 Pac-12) is set to match up against Pac-12 rival Oregon State (17-13, 6-9) in Corvallis on Sunday.
